You train your forehand. You train your backhand. Now train the mind.
Mental Tennis brings mental work onto the court: drills, protocols and real matches that turn pressure, anger and fear into points won. This isn't mental coaching. It's training.
Mental Tennis doesn't ask you to sit down and talk about your feelings. It puts you on court with progressive drills that work on the four levers deciding every close match.
Mindset
Resilience, patience, courage, solidity. They look like character, but they're habits: we build them with repeatable drills, not with motivation of the day.
Emotions
Anger is still energy. Turned into adrenaline and explosiveness it becomes an advantage instead of a donated game. You learn to spot it, dose it, use it.
Focus
Attention drifts — that's normal. What matters is how fast you get it back. Routines, breathing and anchors that hold at 4–5, 30–40.
Identity & strategy
Knowing the player you are and how you intend to win. A game plan only holds if the head holds: here we train tactical clarity when the score burns.
The goal isn't for you to depend on us. It's for you to become your own inner coach.
Every clinic follows a precise format. It isn't a practice session with a few motivational tips: it's a protocol, and the order of the phases is part of the result.
01
Warm-up
Dynamic work to switch on body and attention and step straight into a competitive state.
02
Focused training
The principles of the method applied to your strokes: resilience, patience, tactical clarity.
03
Mental Tennis protocol
The signature part: progressive drills on pressure, error, rhythm and attention.
04
Matches
Real matches to test what you've just learned, under real pressure.
05
Court and video
Live analysis and video feedback: you see what you can't feel while playing.
06
Review and certificate
Debrief, teaching materials and a certificate for Phase 1, 2 or 3 completed.
The founder
Filippo Gioiello
Former player, coach, author. Filippo built Mental Tennis around an uncomfortable question: why does a player who does everything right in practice deliver half of it in a match?
The answer became a method that combines psychological dynamics with practical on-court training, and today works with ATP and WTA players, juniors turning pro, clubs and coaches across three countries. He speaks the players' language because he's lived the court from the inside.

What they say
The people who really compete say it better than us.
“
Filippo transformed my approach to matches. I learned to connect with my inner resources and today I face every competition with a determination I didn't have before.

“
When I coached Gianluca Mager I worked for years on confidence and self-belief: with Mental Tennis I would have got in six months what took me four years.
Diego NargisoATP coach · Sky commentator
“
I was sceptical: I'd already tried psychologists and mental coaches with no results. Here the tools are applied inside the match, point after point. It changed my mentality.
Elitsa KostovaFormer WTA no. 130
“
In the crucial moments I used to panic and walk away from my game plan. I learned to be patient and to forgive myself when I miss. My relationship with my coach improved too.

We only started recently and the results are already there: two doubles finals and my first 25k final. 14 wins in 16 matches is a clear signal.
Tommaso Compagnucci426 ATP
“
I didn't know a method to genuinely train the mind existed. Filippo is a coach, and he was a player: he knows how to reach you and lift your self-belief. He gave me calm in the junior-to-pro transition.

"Recommended by friends, I started out a little sceptical but, all things considered, a week in Marbella is never wasted. As in the best experiences I changed my mind quickly: impeccable organisation with training sessions morning and afternoon in the finest clubs in the area. Theory and practice, and the chance to play with players holding an ATP ranking."

"But what made the difference was his approach: Filippo brought tennis back to its essence, to what it should be first of all... A game. He made me enjoy myself, smile, live the court with lightness and awareness at the same time. And the moment I started having fun, I also began to play far better than before."

"I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting Filippo in person! The book gives an innovative view on how to manage a match, using an inner dialogue that helps you handle complicated situations. I should say that in recent years I have taken part in renowned courses (Bollettieri, Nadal, Piatti) and none of those stages gave me such a useful perspective!"

"I recently read the book and straight afterwards I had the privilege of having my 9-year-old daughter work with Filippo. His expertise embraces the psychological dimension of the game, a fundamental aspect that is often overlooked. His passion for the game and his approach make him a true professional. Thank you Filippo for inspiring me and for deciding to coach Martina."
